Alois Tawanda Mbawara (26) is a Zimbabwean born civil rights activist and one of the co-founders of Free-Zim Youth, a civic pressure group of young Zimbabweans in the UK. He describes himself as a radical who does not believe in external pressure against the Harare regime and argues that "the socio-politico-economic meltdown that confronts Harare is due to the 90's neo-liberal Structural Adjustment Programs, free market policies adopted from the IMF/World Bank, and autocratic dictatorship."
Victor Mavedzenge, (33) currently studying fine art at Central Saint Martins-Byam Shaw in London, previously worked as the project officer for the Youth Programme at the Book Café in Harare. While at the Book Café he initiated the first Zimbabwean Poetry Slam, spearheaded the development of the comedy programme, performed at the tenth Poetry Africa Festival 2006 and also taught art. He performed in the play Territory at the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe.
